PIXIES
One of alternative rock's most influential groups, PIXIES reunited in 2004 after a two-decade hiatus, which followed an amazing six years of recording and touring that blew a breath of fresh air through both the independent and national charts. Led by singer-songwriter-rhythm guitarist Black Francis (a/k/a Frank Black), the quartet's music contains elements of psychedelia, noise pop, hard rock, surf pop, and surf rock, with often surreal lyrics covering offbeat subjects. Artists as far-ranging as Nirvana, Arcade Fire and U2 have claimed PIXIES as an influence on their musical stylings.
