The city of Las Vegas will host its annual Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration Saturday, Nov. 2, from 4 to 10 p.m. at Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza, located at 720 Twin Lakes Drive in Lorenzi Park.
Event Details
This is a free family event. There are opportunities for artisans, food truck vendors and ofrenda contest entries.
Artisans and vendors specializing in Dia de los Muertos creations and Mexican art and heritage are invited to apply to showcase and sell their works at the festival. The vendor participation fee is $50, due upon acceptance to the event. Vendor spaces include one table and two chairs. Artisans, artists, arts and craft vendors, makers, traditional vendors, cottage vendors and face painters with a majority of inventory related to the theme of the event are encouraged to apply. Prospective vendors should complete the online Vendor Application Form and follow the form instructions for submittal. Vendor applications must be received by Oct. 2, 2019.
Food truck vendors also are needed. To have a food truck application emailed to you, contact Jennifer Rabanes at 702-229-4924 or email jrabanes@lasvegasnevada.gov.
Vendors will be responsible for their own sales transactions and taxes; there will not be any commission applied to sales by the city. For more information, call 702-229-ARTS (2787) or visit www.ArtsLasVegas.org.
Residents are invited to dress in their best la catrina costumes to enjoy kids’ activities, entertainment, displays, refreshments and vendors at the Nov. 2 festival. Lawn seating; bring your blankets and low chairs to be more comfortable.
